Discipline 06 · Position

Most brands own a logo.
Few own a line.

Many incontinence brands in the United States and in Europe neither produce, nor engineer, nor test. They choose a stock product from a manufacturer’s catalogue and print a bag. Only a handful run prototypes on real lines, study the results and can demonstrate them.

Two ways to put a product on a shelf

The left column describes the no-factory model in general. It does not name or refer to any specific company.

Myths the shelf keeps selling

Heavy and full of SAP is not the answer

Myth

More superabsorbent means drier

Past a point, extra polymer swells into a seal — gel blocking — and the surface stays wet. Placement and particle size beat quantity.

Myth

A big water figure means a big capacity

Water flatters. Urine carries salts that cut what a polymer holds. Only a saline figure tells you what the product will do.

Myth

Thicker is more secure

Leaks come from speed and fit: a surge that is not caught in seconds, a leg cuff that gaps. A thick, slow product leaks.

Myth

All SAP is the same

Producers’ grades differ in speed, behaviour under load and permeability. Swapping one for another changes the product.

Research you can see

Prototypes on the line, results on the table

Few brands in the US or Europe can run research trials on a production line and demonstrate the results. Most have no field research centre: they borrow ideas and never test them in depth.

We work the other way. Every idea goes on the line; every result is measured with published methods; every change is worn before it is adopted. That is the knowledge behind MaxiDry.tech.

Absorbed in seconds, dry outside: the result of placement, not of weight.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a label brand in adult incontinence?

A brand that does not produce or engineer its products: it selects a stock product from a manufacturer’s catalogue and prints its own packaging.

How can you tell whether a brand engineers its products?

Ask for capacity in 0.9 % saline with the method (ISO 11948-1), speed of absorption and rewet (NWSP 070.9), and whether prototypes are produced and tested on its own lines.
